CHOTEAU Elie Agnes (Skram) Bruner, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at a Choteau hospital of natural causes.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau with the Rev. Jerry Olson officiating. Graveside
memorial services will be held in Havre at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau.
Bruner was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Havre, to Ingebrigt and Anna (Stove) Aardal. She was raised and educations in Havre and graduating from Havre High School. She then attended Normal School at Northern Montana College (now MSU-Northern). She taught school in a country school north of Havre for several years.
She married Alf Reinhardt Skram. He preceded her in death in 1978, following 60 years of marriage.
After her children were raised, Bruner became an activities coordinator at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in Havre, a position that she held for 10 to 15 years. She was one of the founders of the activities directors for nursing homes in Montana. Following her retirement, she moved to Choteau.
She was married to Paul Edward Bruner in Choteau on June 4, 1986.
She enjoyed doing crafts and Norwegian Ros mauling, which is a type of Norwegian decorative painting on wood. She also enjoyed life and being her family and friends.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Rebekah Lodge, Soroptimists, Garden Club, Girl Scouts, 4-H and the Sons Of Norway.
She is survived by two daughters, Reidun Rapp of Choteau and Karen Eggen of San Antonio, Texas; step-daughter, Eloise Erickson of Valier; three grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous cousins and nephews.
