Havre grain producers Terry and Earl Johnson have organized the Give Relief to Americans in Need, or GRAIN, project to send money to victims of the Sept. 11 attack.
"We wanted to personally feel like we were contributing something after the terrorist attack," Terry Johnson said.
The project allows producers to donate profits from spring wheat sales to the Kiwanis International 911 Victims Children's Fund to help children and families in New York and Washington, D.C.
The Johnsons and friends around the state will take spring wheat to the General Mills grain elevator in Wolf Point and specify how much of each load they want to go to the GRAIN project.
General Mills will cut a check for that donated portion of grain to the Kiwanis 911 relief fund.
People wanting to participate can take spring wheat to the Wolf Point elevator on the delivery dates of Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
