AUGUSTA JENSEN, Obituary

Augusta M. Jensen, 92, former seamstress and resident of the Eagles Manor for the last 20 years, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will be held in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Chicago.

A luncheon will follow the service at the meeting room of the Eagles Manor.

Memorials may be made to Eagles Manor, 20 W. Third St., Havre, MT 59501, or St. Jude Catholic Church, 624 Fourth St., Havre, MT 59501, or to a person's choice.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.

Augusta was born May 3, 1909, in Melsele Waas (East Flanders), Belgium, to Edward and Maria (Heirbaut) D'Hooge. In 1920, the family came to America an settled in Chicago. She was educated in East Flanders, Belgium, and in Chicago.

Augusta married Evard Jensen on Nov. 28, 1930, in Chicago.

They had one son, Donnie, who was born in 1937. He died in 1948. Her husband died on April 27, 1969.

Augusta moved to Havre in 1981 to be near her family, who had moved to Havre in 1932. She made her home at the Eagles Manor.

Augusta was a seamstress, who enjoyed teaching knitting. She also enjoyed watching television and playing cards and games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Maria D'Hooge; husband, Evard Jensen; son, Donnie; seven sisters; six brothers.

Survivors include her brother, Louie D'Hooge of Havre; sister, Dorothy Whaley of Havre; numerous nieces and nephews.
