SUSIE HOFER
MALTA Susie J. Hofer, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001,
at her family home at the East Malta Colony after an
extended illness.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the East
Malta Colony, with burial in the East Malta Colony Cemetery.
Hofer was born March 21, 1921 at Rockyford, Alberta, Canada
to Paul and Mary Hofer. She was raised and educated at
Beiseker Colony in Canada.
She married John S. Hofer on June 4, 1950 at Grass Range.
They moved to Turner in 1960 and then to Malta in 1984.
Her favorite past time was doing her craft work knitting,
crocheting and cross stitching.
Hofer was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two
brothers, one sister-in-law, one son-in-law, and her
minister, Paul Hofer, who died two weeks ago.
Survivors include her husband, John S. Hofer; sons, John
Hofer, Jr., Joe Hofer and Mikey Hofer, all of East Malta
Colony; daughters, Bertha Hofer and Barbara Hofer of Turner,
Marie Walter and Annie Walter of Fort Macleod, Alberta;
brother, George Hofer of Stratmore, Alberta; sisters-in-law,
Sarah Hofer of East Malta Colony, Barbara Hofer and Kathrina
Hofer of Smokey Lake, Alberta; brother-in-law, Mike S. Hofer
of East Malta Colony; 22 grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
