Bear Paw Ski Hill has received nearly a foot of snow since
Sunday and the white stuff is still coming down.
That's the latest word from hill manager Dave Martens.
"The mother lode has landed," Martens said in a telephone
interview this morning. "We've received 8 to 10 inches of
new snow and it's still snowing."
The Bear Paw Ski Hill is located about 29 miles south of
Havre on the Chippewa Cree Recreation Area. The downhill ski
area's parking lot starts where the Beaver Creek Highway
pavement ends.
The hill has one chairlift to the top of the mountain with
an off ramp at half way plus a rope tow for beginners. Hill
hours are run from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday
and Sunday while the snow lasts.
Martens reminds area skiers and those who would like to ski
that the hill will be in operation Monday because
Presidents' Day is a school holiday.
Lift tickets cost $12 for children 8 to 18 and $15 for
adults. Children under 8 and adults over 80 ski free.
Half-day tickets are $10.
