Country Poets and Pickers Big Sandy benefit Sunday

By Tim Leeds

The Country Poets and Pickers are performing at the Big Sandy Historical Museum on Sunday, March 4, in a benefit for the museum.

Many area performers will be at the benefit, giving a show of their poetry, music and humor in a fine western style.

Some of the people scheduled to be at the show include cowboy poets Merlyn Huso of Havre and Bear Paw rancher David Molitor, music by former Big Sandy resident Pam Renaker, and poetry by Arnold Hokanson of Big Sandy and Jo Ellis of Havre.

Ellis said that well-known performers Dave and Norma Robertson and Sarah and Russ Baker of Lewistown will also be at the performance. She said this is just a partial list of the many poets and pickers that will be singing, reading poetry, telling stories and often poking fun at each other.

The museum will serve a light lunch at the benefit, which is free of charge. The show begins at 2 p.m. and is planned to last until everyone is ready to leave no prescribed ending. Free-will donations for the museum will be accepted during the performance.
