The Havre Fire Department has set aside four days for controlled burns within the city limits as part of the annual cleanup day events.
The normal ban against burning will be waived for select residents of Havre who apply for and are granted burn permits for sometime between April 23 through 26. The times for the burns will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on each of the four days, weather permitting.
A burning permission release form to allow the resident to burn in the city limits must be filled out. Forms are at the Havre Fire Department at 520 Fourth St. Firefighters will explain the forms as they are handed out, Fire Chief Craig Ellingson said.
The fire department will have a fire truck and manpower at each burning site in the event there is a problem.
The burning permission release form must be filled out and turned in at the Havre Fire Department no later than April 20.
