HCE (Hill County Electric Cooperative) announced in a press release that Deven Donoven of Kremlin has been selected for the 2001 Youth Tour to Washington.

Donoven, the son of Dennis and Joyce Donoven and a junior at KG High School in Gildford, along with 19 other Montana students and about 1,400 high school students from around the country on the tour. The students will spend six days touring the nation's capitol, government agencies, landmarks and historic sites.

Donoven submitted the winning essay for the HCE service area on the topic "What is the role of an electric cooperative director?" The contest is sponsored each year by the National Rural Electric Cooperative's Association to help high school students who are served by electrical cooperatives learn about democracy and the cooperative way of life.

Donoven, who has one younger brother, Darby, will be representing KG High School at Boy's State this summer. He said he hopes to go to college and earn a degree in either culinary arts or computers after finishing high school.
