Ugly weather may have prematurely ended the Havre Invitational tennis tournament Saturday, but that didn't prevent the host Ponies from making an impressive showing anyhow.
Havre's Cody McLain reached the finals and two other Blue Ponies qualified for the semis in singles before rain and snow finally brought an end to the event.
The Ponies also had three doubles teams reach the semifinals to round out a successful day for the program.
McLain earned victories over opponents from Conrad and Cut Bank to advance to the finals of Division I/II of boys singles.
Ian Spencer earned a semifinal berth in Division III/IV of boys singles, and Havre's duo of Jeremy Heninger and Tyler Vincent and the tandem of Mike Frey and Seth Maristuen each reached the semifinals in boys doubles.
Nikki Baltrusch lost just four games en route to the semifinals of Division I/II of girls singles.
Breyon Briese and Samantha Velk won 16 of 17 games played during their trek to the semifinals of girls doubles.
