GREAT FALLS The Great Falls Electrics pieced together two big innings in comparison to the Havre Northstars' one, and that proved to be the difference in an American Legion baseball game Monday.
Great Falls scored five runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to provide the offense to finish the game with an 11-10 victory.
After Havre scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 8-7 lead, Great Falls came back with four runs on four hits and a Northstars errors in the bottom half of the inning to regain the lead at 11-8.
In the seventh, Havre's Tyler Vandermars had an RBI single and Danny Wirtzberger added a run-scoring sacrifice fly to bring the Northstars within 11-10, but Havre went down in order in the final two innings as the rally fell short.
For the Northstars, Wirtzberger finished 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI, Jordan Anderson was 2-for-3 with an RBI triple, and Kyle Sheppard had a 2-for-4 effort with three RBI.
Great Falls secured a 7-2 lead with its big fourth inning, which included four base hits and the leadoff batter getting hit by a pitch.
But Havre wasted little time mounting a comeback in the very next inning.
Wirtzberger led off with a single and scored on Anderson's triple. After Jared Boyce was hit by a pitch, Sheppard and Garrett Hanson had back-to-back RBI singles.
Dustin Heath then walked, and C.J. Reichelt and David Knight who each had two hits had consecutive run-scoring singles to tie the game 7-7. Wirtzberger's RBI single two batters later gave Havre the one-run lead.
Havre starter Doug Ireland pitched six innings before being replaced by Boyce in the seventh.
