Comets clutch up in four-run victory

Timely hitting has been spotty at times for the Havre Comets this year, but they came up clutch against Kate Andrews Tuesday at Legion Field.

Havre went 6-for-18 with runners in scoring position and rolled to a 10-6 win over the Pride in a non-conference baseball game.

Tyler Thompson paced Havre's 10-hit attack with a 2-for-3 effort and three runs batted in.

Havre's Mark Benjamin was 2-for-4 with two hits and an RBI, and Ian Spencer was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

Tyson Roe pitched an inning of hitless ball to earn the win.

The top three batters in the Comets' lineup Benjamin, Garrett Drake and Cory Junck were a combined 3-for-4 with runners at second or third. Each player had an RBI.

Chris Chandler drove in a run for Havre with an RBI triple. He also earned two walks and scored two runs.
