Handley adds depth to squad

Toni Bickford, a two-time all-state golfer from Butte High, has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at Montana State University-Northern, Skylights coach Chris Handley has announced.

Bickford is an exceptional golfer, as well as as exceptional person," Handley said. "Her attitude, combined with her ability is what sets her apart."

Bickford won two tournaments this past season before notching a sixth-place finish at the Class AA state tournament. She finished her senior year with an 83 average.

Handley said this signing not only adds depth to his team's roster, but it also makes them more capable of competing against other schools in the Frontier Conference.

"We played the entire season last year with only four golfers," Handley said, noting Bickford was voted Butte's outstanding female golfer the past two years. "Adding a fifth golfer of Toni's caliber to the outstanding ladies I have now will make our team even more competitive."
