ST. PAUL, Minn. Jane E. Wright, 94, formerly of Havre, died Monday, June 25, 2001 of kidney failure at a care center in St. Paul, Minn.
Wright was born Feb. 24, 1907 in Kalispell to William B. and E. Josephine Rhoades. The family moved to Havre in 1917 when her father became 18th Judicial District Court Judge for Hill and Blaine counties.
Shortly after their arrival in Havre, her father presided over the trial of Long George Francis, a popular figure in Havre's early days, on a charge of horse theft.
Wright graduated from Great Falls High School and attended Carlton College in Northfield, Minn. She married Maurice C. Wright, owner of Wright Photography Studio in Havre in 1933. They sold the studio to Fred Miller in 1953 and moved to White Bear Lake and later to St. Paul. He continued in photography in St. Paul and she was employed by West Publishing Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maurice, in 1987, and a sister, brother, grandson and great-grandson.
Survivors include her son, Thomas R. Wright of St. Paul; daughters, Francis Jean Wiese of St. Paul, Patricia J. Lynde of Bella Vista, Alaska, Mary Susan Mote of Sparks, Nev.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
