Havre police were kept busy with 18 complaints concerning fireworks Tuesday, Wednesday and early today.
Of the 18 complaints, 13 were reported between 7 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on July Fourth. Assistant Police Chief Mark Stolen said there was a "few-hour period where it was just nuts."
Officers gave warnings to people they saw lighting fireworks within Havre's city limits. No citations were issued.
Havre firefighters responded to four grass fires. All of the grass fires were caused by fireworks set off by individuals, firefighters said. One of the fires started about 10 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters responded to two grass fires on the night of July Fourth and one more at 8:15 a.m. today.
