Special art workshop set for Heritage Center

By Ron VandenBoom

A new art form that uses a child's boundless imagination to make pictures out of bubbles will be featured in a special summer edition of the Havre Art Association's Children's Art Workshop.

The workshop will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the lower level of the Heritage Center. Cost of the workshop will be $2 and preregistration is a must.

Ginnie Streeper, co-chairwoman of the workshop, called the new art form "fantasy water bubble art."

The children blow through a straw into a bowl of colored water, she said. The child then covers the bowl with a piece of paper and a bubble design is created on the paper.

The child will then look at the design and use her or his imagination to find figures of plants, animals or other familiar objects. The objects are then outlined.

The workshop is a one-time-only event and class size is limited, Streeper said.

Anyone interested in participating should call 265-2005 and leave a message and their phone number.
