DOUG TAYLOR, Obituary

CHINO0K Doug Taylor, 82, died Monday, July 9, 2001 at a Great Falls hospital.

Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Chapel in Chinook. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery with military honors. A luncheon will follow interment at

the American Lutheran Church in Chinook.

Taylor was born May 3, 1919 to Loring and Lillian (Leonard) Taylor in Lloyd and grew up on the Taylor ranch there. He attended Chinook schools.

He married Florens Sheppard Oct. 7, 1939 in Chinook.

Taylor served in the U.S. Navy and returned to Chinook upon his discharge.

He operated his own dry cleaning shop for many years and later went into partnership with another dry cleaner.

They semi-retired to Missoula in 1980 and returned to Chinook in 1997.

He was an avid golfer.

Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Florens Taylor; his parents; brother, "Dude" Taylor.

Survivors include his daughter, Pam Davidson of Chinook; son, Brad Taylor of Columbia Falls; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Chinook Golf and Country Club Building Fund or to the Partnership for Survival Chinook Cancer Support Group.
