Ranghild "Rags" Shanahan, 83, died Thursday, July 12, 2001 at a Havre care center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday at the Holland and Bonine Chapel with Rowlie Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Highland Cemetery.
Shanahan was born Nov. 30, 1917 to Edward and Hannah (Aberg) Rossberg at Cuyuna, Minn. She attended Crosby Ironton High School in Minnesota and the Minnesota School of Business.
On Oct. 23, 1939, she married John Melvin "Shanny" Shanahan at Iowa. She worked at Honeywell Industries in Minneapolis for 30 years before retiring. She later moved to Havre to be close to family.
Shanahan enjoyed crocheting, beadwork, knitting, plastic canvas, and sharing a cup of coffee with her friends and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Melvin Shanahan, and a sister, Agnes Carlson.
Survivors include her sisters, Linnea Badgley of Havre and Elaine Hawkinson of Crosby, Minn.; brother, Ralph Peterson of Washington; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Northern Montana Hospital Dialysis Unit, Havre, MT 59501 or Bear Paw Hospice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.
