Montana State University-Northern wrestling coach David Ray has announced he has signed college transfer Josh Wright to an NAIA national letter of intent.
Wright, who wrestles at 157 pounds, is transferring from Southern Colorado University.
Prior to his stay in Colorado, Wright wrestled for Ricks College and placed fourth and sixth in the National Junior College Championships in 1998 and 1999, respectively. He had a 72-20 record at Ricks.
Wright, an Elberta, Utah native, then redshirted at Southern Colorado in 2000 and was injured for all of 2001.
Wright was a three-time state wrestling finalist in high school and won the state title his senior year. He finished his prep career with a 132-20 mark.
He is married to Melanie Wright and is a physical education major.
