Alumni games set for Sunday
Legion Field will be the site for several American Legion Class A All-Star games this weekend.
The event began with the South and East teams squaring off at 1 p.m. today. The West and North teams will meet at 3:30 p.m., and the East and North teams are slated to compete at 8:30 this evening.
Games will then continue Saturday with the East playing the West at 9 a.m., the West against the South at 11:30 a.m., and the South versus the North at 2 p.m.
On Sunday, the Comets will play an alumni team consisting of older players at 4 p.m., and the Northstars will follow against a team of younger alumni at 6:30.
Havre Comets assistant coach Steve Fanning will be the head coach for the West squad in the All-Star event, and he will have familiar faces on his team with Havre Northstars catcher Garrett Hanson and Comets center fielder Daine Solomon in his lineup.
Northstars pitcher/outfielder Jared Boyce and Comets pitcher/infielder Steve Heberly will each play for the North team.
Northstars teammates Kyle Sheppard and Jordan Anderson will head the local contingent on the East team.
