Margaret M. McKay, 74, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Prayer vigil and rosary service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Jude Catholic

Church with Fr. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial is to follow at the Highland Cemetery. Fellowship will follow burial at the Social Hall of St. Jude Catholic Church.

McKay was born May 24, 1927, to Arthur F. and Gertrude (Fitzgerald) Heeter in Havre. She attended St. Jude Catholic School.

On March 4, 2001, she married Louis A. "Laddie" Daniel at Fort Benton. She worked for the Great Northern Railway in the telegrapher's office. They later divorced.

On March 5, 1966, she married Bud McKay in Havre. They later divorce. She worked as a bartender in Havre for many years. She moved to Fort Benton in 1981 and purchased the Palace Bar, which she operated for more than 10 years before retiring. She sold the bar and moved to Chinook to be near family. She also sold Avon for many years.

McKay enjoyed crafts, telling stories, loved music and had a good sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husbands, Louis A. Daniel on Oct. 29, 1972, and Bud McKay on Jan. 29, 1978; sister, Blanche Baker in 1990.

Survivors include her sons, Craig Daniel of Cortez, Colo., and Mike Daniel of Chinook; sisters, Mamie Pierson and Bernice Pyette of Havre and Beverly Marshall of New Johnsonville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Bear Paw Hospice.
