MALTA Jeanette Adelia Wilke, 82, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at a Havre care center of natural causes.
Funeral services were today at the Malta Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Malta Cemetery.
Wilke was born on April 16, 1919, to John L. and Annie M. (Anderson)
Eklund on the homestead 30 miles north of Saco. She was raised on the homestead and attended school near the home place and in Saco. In the late 1930s, she moved to Dodson where she attended school.
She married Walter G. Wilke on May 29, 1941, in Havre. They lived in Dodson and a number of other places before moving to Malta. She worked for the Phillips County Hospital for many years.
Wilke was active in the Malta Lutheran Church and the ladies groups. She looked forward everyday to their morning coffee group. She loved bingo, pinochle, canasta and visiting with her friends and family. Her grandchildren were a special joy in her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, John L. Eklund on Dec. 9, 1985, mother, Annie M. Eklund on Aug. 28, 1959; brothers, Buddy Eklund on Oct. 13, 1990, Alvin Eklund on Jan. 9, 1992
Survivors include her husband, Walter Wilke of Malta; daughters, Donna Miller, Sandy Williams of Havre, Linda Lundman of Billings; brothers, Adolph Eklund of Saco, George Eklund of Malta; sisters-in-law Mary Eklund of Saco, Hilda Wilke of Dodson; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Malta Lutheran Church building fund or charities of one's choice.
Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
