Festival Days offers chance to get active

School begins Wednesday. That and the Labor Day weekend signal the end of summer. Havre's 21st Festival Days is just two short weeks away. This year's theme is a "Salute to Havre Pride." There are a host of activities to keep all of us entertained. The Chamber and this year's first ever husband-and-wife Festival Days co-chairs Tony and Kathy Vigilotti and all of the volunteers involved deserve our appreciation for their efforts.

Now it is up to each and every one of the rest of us to do our part. Havre Festival Days is our chance to showcase our community. Havre PRIDE, our citywide cleanup day, is set for Sept. 8. The very least we should do is make sure our own property is free of trash and weeds. In addition to that, join the folks who volunteer twice a year to pick up trash and make our town presentable.

Finally, invite everyone you know to visit during Festival Days. Havre Festival Days should be an annual reunion of folks who used to live here and friends we don't see nearly enough.

This is our annual chance to show the folks we care about why we're so proud of Havre.
