Senior Skylight volleyball player Lyndi Hostetter was named to the all-star team last weekend at the Palm Beach Atlantic Welcome Classic in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Hostetter led the Skylights as they went 2-2 against some of the top teams from across the country. She hit .256 with 56 kills in four matches. She also shined in the service area, serving 100 percent on 72 attempts while notching seven aces. On the defensive side, Hostetter paced her team with 70 digs.

"Lyndi played incredibly," head coach Lisa Handley said. "This is the best hitting percentage she has ever had in a tournament. On top of that, she served tough, and her defense was all-out. It was a lot of fun watching Lyndi take charge this early in her senior year."

The Skylights placed sixth in a field of 12 teams that featured four of the top ten NAIA teams in the nation.

"The caliber of teams we faced will help us be prepared for the tough competition we will face in the Frontier Conference this year," Handley said. "From what I saw this weekend, I feel we have the ability to beat any team in the conference as long as we focus on what we need to do, and not on who we are playing."
