CHINOOK Margaret Loney, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
Loney was born March 9, 1916, to Allen and Caroline (Dunn) Avery in Marshall, Minn. She attended Cole rural school and Chinook High School.
She married Arnold Melvin Loney of Dodson on Aug. 13, 1938, in Havre. He worked road and dam construction and they lived in many areas of Montana and neighboring states. They settled on the Avery farm south of Chinook in 1943.
They retired from farming and ranching in 1973 and moved into Chinook.
Loney volunteered at the Blaine County Museum during its early years. She was active in the Chinook Senior Citizens Center.
She was an card player and participated in bowling league for several years.
Loney was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Loney, in December 1993.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie Gasvoda of Golden, Colo., Sharon Haider of Chinook; sons, Dale Loney and Mark Loney, both of Chinook; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Benefis West Foundation, Gift of Life Family Housing, Great Falls, or the Chinook Senior Citizens Center.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
