Minerva "Mernie" Mae Ryan, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at a Bozeman hospital.
A memorial Mass was held on Sept. 15th at Resurrection Parish in Bozeman.
She was born in Kottke Valley Township, N.D., on Aug. 19, 1916, to Rolland and Mamie (Kinzell) Alger. She grew up in Glasgow and graduated from Glasgow High School.
She married William E. Ryan in Glasgow in 1958. After living several years in Havre and Great Falls, they moved to Bozeman in 1986, where they lived out their final years.
Ryan was a past member of the Bozeman Deaconess Auxiliary, the Young At Heart Water Aerobics, and a member of Resurrection Parish.
She enjoyed her grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Ryan, in 1987; sister, Lila Cornwell.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Springer of Bozeman and Donna Balko of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, Rolland Alger; seven grandchildren.
