Raffle to help leukemia patient

A raffle is being held to raise money for the Andrea Moore Fund.

Andrea is a Havre girl who has been undergoing treatment for leukemia.

The raffle winner will receive a new 2001 5-by-10-feet trailer valued at $1,100 or a $900 buyback on an upgrade. If the winner doesn't want the trailer, the winner will get $900.

The drawing will be Oct. 31. A person need not be present to win. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Andrea has been undergoing chemotherapy at Seattle Children's Hospital, with her mother and siblings there to help her. The family had hoped to return home for Christmas, but learned on Oct. 1 that she has to have surgery to replace a tube to her heart because of a blood-clotting problem. She cannot resume chemotherapy until that is done, according to her father, J.B. Moore.

The trailer has a tilt bed and has a 3,500-pound axle rating. The trailer was donated by M&M Trailers and Bob's Cycle World.

Bob Williams, the owner of Bob's Cycle World and Moore's employer, said he's hoping an organization will step forward to help Moore sell raffle tickets.
