CHINOOK Anna M. Miller, 81, formerly of Chinook, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, in Great Falls due to natural causes.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
Anna was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Husum, Germany, to Frank and Elly (Mahns) Groneberg. She came with her parents to the United States in 1923. She attended schools south of Chinook and was a waitress in the local restaurants.
She married Leonard "Shorty" Miller on Dec. 27, 1941, in Chinook. During World War II, they lived in Wyoming and Baltimore. They returned to Chinook to raise their family.
Anna enjoyed gardening, reading and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and her husband, Leonard Miller, in 1974.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Doherty of Great Falls; sons, Gene Miller of Great Falls, Bill Miller of Bellingham, Wash.; sister, Margaret Simpson of Chinook; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
