BIG SANDY Robert J. "Digger" Drew, 82, retired owner and operator of Drew's Excavating Company, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at a Big Sandy medical facility of natural causes.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rohrer Methodist Church in Big Sandy with the Rev. Marvin Eldridge officiating. Burial is to follow with full military honors at the Big Sandy Cemetery. Fellowship luncheon is to follow burial at the Rohrer Methodist Church.
Robert was born Oct. 17, 1919, to Joseph and Agda (Anderson) Drew at Kenilworth. He attended a country school near Kenil-worth. After attending school, he worked on the family farm. Digger served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In 1943, he married Mable A. Gibson at Opelousas, La. They lived in Big Sandy, where Digger was operating his own excavating business and trap line.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agda (Anderson) Drew, and his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Bobbie (Patrick) Kay Baker of Las Vegas and Angela Gregerson of Park City; brother, Gerald (Fern) Drew of Spokane, Wash.; four grandchildren; two step-granchildren, seven great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
