Ronald Dean Phifer, 45, died Dec. 7, 2001, at his residence of pancreatic cancer. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service is 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with Pastors Rowlie Hutton and Jack Rampelberg officiating. Fellowship reception will follow the memorial service at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church.
Ron was born Feb. 24, 1956, to Howard Lee and Margaret Lois (Terry) Phifer at Havre. Ron attended schools in Havre. On April 2, 1988,
Ron married Betty Jean Smith at South Chinook. He was employed at the Havre Public School System as a warehouseman for the past seven years, which is where he was employed at the time of his death. Prior to working for Havre Public Schools, he was employed by the city of Havre.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and classic hot rods. He was an active member of the Teamster's Union.
Ron is survived by his parents; his wife of Havre; daughters, Christy Hamilton of Mountain Home, Idaho and Cassie Phifer of Havre; sons, Keith Smith and Tyson Phifer, both of Havre, and Ryan Evans of Missoula; sisters, Deb Reynolds of Great Falls, Lila Roberts of Kennewick, Wash., Annie Nielsen of Havre, Lily Girvin of Antioch, Calif., and Sharon Lahr of Lewistown; brothers, Bob Wood of Shelton, Wash., Jerry Wood of Petaluma, Calif., Terry Wood of Anchorage, Alaska, Mark Wood of Willow Creek, Calif., Dave Phifer of Lewistown, and Arn Phifer of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Ron's honor may be made to Bear Paw Hospice, c/o Northern Montana Hospital, 30 W. 13th St., Havre, MT 59501, or Salvation Army, 605 Second St., Havre, MT 59501.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.
