Margaret Decker, 85, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at a Havre residential care home. She had Alzheimer's disease.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Havre at 2 p.m. Jan. 15, 2002, with Pastor Brad Ulgenes officiating.
Margaret was born March 1, 1916, to Norwegian homesteaders Martin and Charlotte (Thygesen) Tronstad in Fergus Falls, Minn. She spent her early years at Fort Assinniboine and attended schools in Havre. In 1935, she married Havre native James Decker. Mrs. Decker was active in the First Lutheran Church and other community organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Decker; sister Ann (Tronstad) Siers; brother, Alf Tronstad; and daughter Mary Susan Decker.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Stevens of San Francisco, Calif.; son, Bob Decker of Helena; sister, Signe (Tronstad) McMaster of Lynwood, Wash.; two granddaughters, both of Helena.
Memorials in Margaret's honor may be made to Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, P. O. Box 80807, Billings, MT 59108.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
