Hockey teams have tough time in Missoula

The Havre Ice Hawks Koefod Bantam hockey team traveled to Billings Dec. 29-30 to play two games against the Billings B Junior Bulls.

The Havre team earned a tie in the first game, 3-3. Shiloh Barrett, Josh Strissel and Josh Morse each scored goals for Havre. Assists were given to Laura Zentmire, Michelle Armstrong, Ben Erickson and Josh Strissel.

Michael Erickson had 59 saves as goalie.

The Ice Hawks' next game, against the same Billings team, ended in a 5-2 loss. Josh Strissel and Andy Hanson score the lone goals for Havre. Hanson assisted Strissel's goal.

Goalie Michael Erickson had 43 saves.

The next games for the Bantam team is Jan. 18-20 in Miles City. The Ice Hawks will face Gillette and Miles City for four games.

The Havre Ice Hawks Squirt B team was in Missoula Saturday and Sunday, earning two wins on the weekend.

The Ice Hawks won their first game Saturday 3-1 and their second Sunday 4-1.

In Saturday's game, Jesse Majeres, Tyler Miller and Kyle Miller all scored goals. Kyle Miller, Alex Sinclair and Majeres each added one assist.

Goalie Willie DeVries had nine saves on the game.

In Sunday's game, Nick Woods scored three goals for Havre. Kyle Miller scored the other Havre goal. Dillon McLain added two assists and Zack Wavrick and Majeres each had one.

Alex Sinclair had seven saves as goalie.

The next games for the Squirts are Saturday and Sunday in Miles City. Saturday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. and Sunday's for 11 a.m.

The Short Stop/Bullhook Bottoms Squirts team was also in Missoula Saturday and Sunday for two games.

The Squirts lost both games to the Missoula Bruins, both games by one goal.

Saturday's game ended in a 3-2 loss with Beau Briese and Mason Sheppard each scoring one goal. Briese's goal was unassisted and Sheppard's was assisted by Briese.

Tyler Ellis was goalie for Havre.

On Sunday the Bruins won a league contest 5-4. Ryan Armstrong scored three goals for the Havre team and Sheppard added one. Dylan Patterson assisted Sheppard's goal and Shane Kemmer assisted one of Armstrong's goals. Kemmer and Adam Briese combined for an assist to Armstrong, while Armstrong's other goal was unassisted.

The next game for the Squirts is against Helena on Saturday. Game times are 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
