The Montana State University-Northern wrestling team competed in the Dickinson State University Classic Saturday and came home with a second-place team trophy.
While the Lights had four wrestlers place first, one second and one third, head coach David Ray calls the finish a disappointment.
"We had three wrestlers seeded that did not place, even if they match their seeds we score 20 more points not including advancement points," he said. "So yes, I am frustrated. It would have been nice to knock Augsburg College off. They are the defending NCAA Division III National Champions and have won it five out of the last six years."
The seeded wrestlers coach Ray was insinuating were Bobby Mantle, at 149 pounds and seeded fourth, Dustyn Azure, at 157 pounds and seeded third, and Kyle Klonizos, seeded second at 165 pounds.
"We still have yet had a full team performance in a tournament and we only have two tournaments left before nationals the Northwestern Open and Regionals," Ray said.
On a positive note for the Lights, Caleb Schaeffer was named as the outstanding wrestler at 133 pounds.

197 Emmett Willson won by decision 6-1 over K. Rasmussen from Augsburg for first place
