Candidates can begin filing for local offices next week

Candidate filing for offices will open officially on Tuesday.

Although the scheduled opening for filing is Monday, county offices will be closed in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Filing will, therefore, open at 8 a.m. in the Clerk and Recorder's Office on Tuesday for the following offices:

Hill county commissioner, District 1, six-year term

Clerk and recorder, four-year term

Sheriff/coroner, four-year term

County attorney, four-year term

County superintendent of Schools, four-year term

County auditor, four-year term

County public administrator, four-year term

County treasurer/assessor, four-year term

County justice of the peace (nonpartisan), four-year term

County Conservation District supervisor District 1, four-year term

County Conservation District supervisor District 2, four-year term

County Conservation District supervisor District 3, four-year term

Precinct committeemen and committeewomen, two-year term
