Senior Julie Wagner had fire in her eyes this weekend, guiding the Havre Blue Ponies to conference wins over Park High and Browning, before falling in a close game to Lewistown.
Wagner had 19 digs against Park, four aces against Browning, and 17 digs in loss to Lewistown.
"She's been working super hard this week," head coach Lacy Anderson said, mentioning that Wagner leads by example and also in talking to her teammates. "She's aggressive and gets after it." Anderson also said Wagner is a smart hitter, but really excels on serve receive.
"It starts with the pass," she said. "And (Julie) is a savior in the back row."

Name: Eric Hinebauch
Class: Sophomore
School: Chinook
Sport: Wrestling
Chinook sophomore Eric Hinebauch sparkled in Chinook's only home wrestling tournament of the season, defeating Luke Spencer in the first round Friday by a 7-4 decision.
Hinebauch, who's season record is now 32-7, took second in the Harlem tournament Saturday and finished the weekend with a 6-1 record. Hinebauch's only loss came to Spencer by decision 7-2 in the championship round at Harlem. Spencer is currently ranked number one in the state Class B-C rankings.
"He's a great kid," Chinook coach Perry Miller, who has coached Hinebauch since he was 4 or 5 years old in a freestyle wrestling program, said. "He brings a lot of desire, a lot of intensity to the mat with him."
