LIBBY Fay Bengtson, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at a Libby hospital.
Services were Sunday at Troy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ben Nardi officiating.
She was born in Havre on May 27, 1928, to Herman and Ann Wingard and was raised and educated at Havre. She resided in the Havre area until moving to Libby in 1963.
She and her husband, Anson Bengtson, owned and operated Elkhorn Apartments and Elkhorn Antiques on Highway 37 near Libby until their retirement in 1986. Following their retirement, they resided in South Dakota for a short period of time before returning to Montana. They resided in Troy for several years, where they operated an antiques business for a period of time. They recently moved back to Libby.
She is survived by her husband, Anson Bengtson of Libby; daughters, Gloria Beasley of Troy, Paulette Walls of Newell, S.D., Rhenda Studer of Spearfish, S.D., and Sandy Dedrick of Libby; sons, Paul Bengtson of Arizona, Gordon Bengtson of Thompson Falls, Milo Bengtson of Kennewick, Wash., and John Barnette of Kettle Falls, Wash.; sister, Jenny Meddings of Havre; brother, Roger Wingard of Kennewick, Wash.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Troy United Methodist Church.
Nelson and Vial Funeral Home of Libby was in charge of arrangements.
