Chinook spikers set to face Ponies

The Havre Blue Ponies and Chinook Sugarbeeters will meet for the final time on the volleyball floor tonight in Chinook at 7:30.

The Ponies rallied to beat the Sugarbeeters, 15-9, 15-8, 9-15, 15-5, in their first matchup of the season Jan. 11.

Havre didn't play last weekend, while Chinook is coming off a two-game weekend against Poplar and Glasgow. Chinook defeated Glasgow Saturday 15-10, 15-4, 15-2. Scores from Friday's game against Poplar were unavailable.

Havre (9-8, 5-2) is currently second in the north subdivision of the Central A volleyball standings.

In the Central A volleyball statistics through Feb. 3, Amy Ranes sits fourth in kills, averaging 3.07 per game, Jayla McPherson is sixth in assists with 4.51 per game, followed by Laura Hedstrom in eighth with 3.53 per game.

Ranes is also third on the list for stuff blocks with just under one per game. Jeanna McPherson and Jayla McPherson round out the leaders in blocks with .65 and .63 per game, respectively.

Julie Wagner sits third in digs with 3.02 per game with Sara Suek closely behind with 2.71 per game. Third and fourth on the individual serve-percentage list is Taylor Donaldson and Kari Bolken. Donaldson has only missed seven serves (172 out of 179) on the season for a 96.1 serve percentage. Bolken has made 69-of-72 serves for 95.8 percent. As a team, the Ponies are second in serve percentage at 91.4 percent.
