The Havre Youth Soccer Association will be holding a FIFA referee certification clinic for those interested in becoming a certified referee.
The clinic will be held at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church in Havre by Jeanne Dalton, USSF Instructor. Certification mandates the hours of instruction and successfully passinig a written exam. Therefore, those interested must attend all of the sessions without fail. This is especially open to the youth referees who are 12 and over that were HYSA referees this past fall. Those individuals will have their $30 fee paid by HYSA.
The times of the referee clinic are: Monday, Feb. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m.; Thursday, Feb. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch will be on your own for Saturday.
The HYSA program has grown to over 500 youths playing 300 plus games each fall. Referees are a major component of the success and continued growth of this league. At this time, there are only five local FIFA certified referees plus Dalton.
If you have questions or are interested in becoming a FIFA Certified Referee please contact Melissa Kemp at 265-3123 and leave a message. Call before Feb. 16 to ensure a seat.
