Robert Francis Malone, 79, a retired superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at a Great Falls Hospital of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Private family bur-
ial of ashes will be at a later date. A fellowship is to follow the memorial at the Havre Fraternal Order of Elks.
Robert was born March 21, 1922, to James Carl and Julia (Carroll) Malone at Cut Bank. The family moved to Havre. Robert attended St. Jude Elementary School and graduated from Havre High School.
On May 26, 1951, Robert married Margaret Kempher at St. Jude Catholic Church. To this union, four children were born. Margaret died on May 17, 1994. Robert served his country during Word War II in the U.S. Army. He achieved the level of sergeant. He was the superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant in Havre until his retirement after many years of loyal service.
Robert enjoyed reading, playing golf, baseball, hockey, and spending time in The Bears Paw Mountains. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks and a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Carl and Julia (Carroll) Malone; brothers, Ned in 1948 and Jack in 1995; sister, Carol in 1981.
Survivors include his sons; Ned (Delonna) Malone of Havre, Bob (Patti) Malone of Havre, Michael (Marlene) Malone of Spokane, Wash,; daughter, Barbara Jones of Havre; brother, Jim (Lois) Malone of Havre; numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorials in Robert's honor may be made to St. Jude's School, 624 Fourth St., Havre, MT 59501
