Strong first and third quarters by Blue Sky Saturday morning in loser-out action at the District 9C Boys Basketball Tournament led the Eagles to a 74-47 win over Box Elder.
Blue Sky capitalized on 21 Box Elder turnovers and scored 26 points off Bear miscues. The Eagles also outscored Box Elder 23-7 in second-chance points and 21-9 on three-point baskets.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, 24-11 after the first quarter and with a strong third quarter, outscoring Box Elder 22-10, Blue Sky put the game away.
Three Blue Sky players scored in double figures, led by Brent Petrick with 20, Jon Lipp with 14 and Keenan Toner with 12. Petrick also had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Toner added eight rebounds.
Neil Rosette and Chad Parker each scored 12 in the losing effort for Box Elder.
With the win, the Eagles advanced to the consolation finals game Saturday night at 6:30.

The Big Sandy Pioneers and KG KouGars were the two other teams facing elimination Saturday morning at the District 9C Boys Basketball Tournament.
The young Big Sandy team, which starts four sophomores and one junior, had four players score in double figures en route to its 74-67 win.
Gage Brumwell led the Pioneers in scoring with 21 points and rebounds with 14 total, 10 on the defensive end. Brumwell, who finished with a double-double in scoring and rebounds, came close to a triple-double with seven assists. Also adding a double-double for Big Sandy was Mason Ophus. Ophus scored 19 points and had 13 rebounds, nine defensive. Chris Yirsa and Jay Jamieson rounded out the Pioneers in double figures with 10 points apiece.
Rebounding proved the major difference in the game, with Big Sandy pulling down 47 rebounds and KG 28.
Big Sandy shot 55 percent from the field for the game.
Topping all scorers in the contest was KG's Casey Crites with 25 points. Thomas Marshall added 12.
Strong first and fourth quarters propelled Big Sandy to victory as the KouGars couldn't quite overcome an early nine-point deficit.
The Pioneers advanced to the consolation final game against Blue Sky Saturday night at 6:30.
