Big Sandy basketball standout Katherine Bitz will continue her sports career next fall, signing an NAIA national letter of intent to play for Rocky Mountain College.
Rocky head coach Brian Henderson announced the signing Thursday and, in a press release, said he is excited to have Bitz join the program.
"Katherine is a great student and a great athlete," Henderson said. "We are very excited she chose Rocky and I see her being a big part of Lady Battlin' Bear Basketball in the future."
Bitz averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals during her senior season and was named to the All-Conference and All-State teams. Bitz, a 5-foot-11 guard, shot 47 percent from three-point range this past season and has been chosen to represent Montana in this year's Montana-Wyoming All-Star Game.
