The Public Service Commission will be on the Hi-Line in May to hold public hearings about NorthWestern Energy's proposed portfolio of energy contracts, which will determine the cost of electricity for its customers.
The PSC must decide whether NorthWestern acted prudently when it picked the contracts. The rates NorthWestern will charge when the contracts go into effect on July 1 will depend on what contracts the PSC approves for the portfolio.
A hearing will be held on May 20 at 2 p.m. at the Liberty County Library meeting room in Chester. Hearings will be held on May 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the Triangle Telephone Cooperative hospitality room in Havre, and in Malta at the First State Bank conference room at 2:30 p.m.
