SALEM, Ore. Joan Elvrom, 81, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Salem, Ore.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Salem, Ore.
She was born July 24, 1920, in Minot, N.D., to John and Miriam Settle.
She graduated from Minot High School in 1938 and graduated from nursing school in Havre. She served as a Navy Nurse during World War II and worked as an O.B. nurse in Havre.
She married Howard Elvrom Jan. 6, 1946.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Elvrom; her children, Susan Malsam of Havre, Tove Elvrom of Missoula, Tom Elvrom of Seattle, Deborah Elvrom of Madras, Ore., Dave Elvrom of Great Falls, Lisa Syth of Camas, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
Joan enjoyed nursing and working with newborns. She had many hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crafts and reading. After retiring she and Howard moved to Salem, Ore., where they enjoyed traveling. They spent the winters in Hawaii.
