POWER Vera June Schaefer, Power, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at a Newark, N.J., hospital of heart failure.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Power with entombment in Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum in Great Falls at 3 p.m.
She was born June 25, 1924, in Wilmington, Del. After graduation from high school in Wilmington, she came to Power, where she met and married Mickey Schaefer. They lived in Power for 39 years.
She tended bar at Aragon Bar in Fairfield for more than 11 years and worked at Smoot Honey Co. in Power for several years.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for more than 50 years and was also a member of the Elks Auxiliary.
She loved to play bingo and cards, and loved to travel with her friend Ruth Beck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey, who died in 1985.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Bob) Ridgeway of Helena and Kathi Knutson of Williston, N.D.; sister, Rita Haines of Kennett Square, Pa.; grandchildren, Ty Ridgeway of Hillsboro, Ore., K.C. Ridgeway of Lake Oswego, Ore., Kellee (Jeremy) May of Havre, and Kabe Knutson of Grand Forks, N.D.; and two nieces and a nephew.
Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in Power.
