KEITH TURCK, Obituary

Keith Ivan Turck, 63, lifelong teacher and school counselor, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his Havre residence of a presumed heart condition.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Parr officiating.

Fellowship is to follow memorial service at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

Keith was born Oct. 8, 1938, to Paul A. and Lucille M. (Smith) Turck at Havre. Keith's father was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The family lived in Fort Belknap, Browning, Poplar and Crow Agency, all of which are located in Montana, and in Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1956, from Montana State College in Bozeman in 1960, and from Eastern Montana College in Billings around 1966.

On Aug. 13, 1961, he married Dee Ann Ryder in Billings. To this union, three children were born. They taught in Bridger in 1961 and 1962. He was a Havre Public Schools counselor from 1962 until his retirement in 1995.

He was an active member of the Havre Lions Club and was secretary if the Havre Lions Club at the time of his death. His hobbies included golf, motorcycles and computers.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Turck in 1982; mother, Lucille M. Smith Turck Tyler in 1999; his twin brother at birth.

Survivors include his wife, Dee Ann Ryder Turck of Havre; sons, Geoffrey Turck of Green Lake, Wash., Bradley (Mary) Turck of Devil's Lake, N.D., Jason Turck of Freemont, Wash.; two grandchildren.
