EARL DONOVEN, Obituary

Earl Neil Donoven, 60, died after a long battle with cancer on Jan. 13, 2002, at his home in Havre, surrounded by his wife and children.

The funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Havre, with the Rev. Tim Hauge officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.

Following the committal service there will be a Fellowship Reception at the First Lutheran Church.

Viewing will begin 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel.

Earl was born Nov. 2, 1941, to J. Lloyd and Irene (Knutson) Donoven in Havre. He grew up and attended school in Kremlin. After graduation from high school, he attended Northern Montana College for two years.

On Nov. 12, 1960, he married Jackie E. Bullman in Havre at the St. Jude's Catholic Church. To this union four children were born. Earl farmed in the Kremlin area until his retirement in 1997. During this time he also owned and operated the Short Stop from May 1993 until July 1995. In 1997 the couple moved to Havre.

Earl enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends. He also collected Coca-Cola and John Deere memorabilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Lloyd and Irene Donoven.

Earl is survived by his wife, Jackie, of the home; son, Jerry Donoven, his wife, Janine, and their children, Haily and Chelsea, of Havre; son, Greg Donoven, and David Roque of Oakland, Calif.; son, Dean Donoven, his wife, Dana, and their son, Jordy, of Kremlin; daughter, Stacey Stenseth, her husband, Rich, and their children, Cole and Morgan, of Spokane, Wash.; brothers, Keith Donoven of Kremlin, Lyle Donoven of Lander, Wyo.,; aunts, Frances Knutson of Havre, Lola Holst of Havre; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials in Earl's Honor may be made to Relay for Life, in care of Harvey Brock, P.O. Box 431, Havre, MT 59501, or to a charity of the person's choice.
