The Havre High wrestlers will be in Great Falls tonight to take on the Great Falls High Bison and the CMR Rustlers in separate dual matches.
Havre coach Scott Filius said he expects the Great Falls High match to be the more competitive of the two, but that the Rustlers have "some good individuals."
Havre has wrestled against both teams this season, but not since the Holiday Classic in December.
The Bison will have at least three state finalists in their line-up for tonight's dual meet, Filius said.
"Great Falls High is always tough," Filius said. "The kids are always tough. They've got talent. I expect them to be as tough as they've been all year." But, Filius added, his team is also as good right now as they have been all season.
The true test for the Ponies though will be Saturday night at 6:30 when the Conrad Cowboys come to town. The Cowboys have two returning state champions on their team and will challenge the Ponies at every weight class.
Filius said Conrad has the best wrestler in the state at 171 pounds, someone who has beat Garrett Hanson twice this year.
The Ponies have faced the Cowboys in duals five times and have three wins and two losses in previous years.
"I expect Conrad to be a tough dual," Filius said. "But the kids wrestle well against them, so we'll see. We wrestle well down there and they wrestle well here."
The junior varsity meet is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with the varsity to follow shortly after.
