OPAL JONES, Obituary

Opal Marie Jones, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at her residence of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place. A private family ceremony for burial of ashes will take place at a later date.

Opal was born July 25, 1918, to Glen and Electa Mae (St. Peter) Duhamel at Aure, Minn. She was educated at a nearby rural country school.

In 1938, Opal married W. H. "Harold" Jones in Bemidji, Minn. To this couple, five children were born. The family moved to the Hi-Line in 1948 for Harold's employment with the C.C. Lumber and Timber Company. Opal worked at the Buttrey's Store in both the clothing department and the meat department in Havre. She was also employed at Rocky Mountain Meat Packing and Havre.

She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. "Harold" Jones; son, Dennis Jones; brothers, Harold and Merrick Duhamel; sisters, Beulah Gilman, Grace Cooper, Ora Kirkvold.

Survivors include her daughters, Judie Honadel of Bozeman and Margaret Fowler of Seattle; sons, Don Jones of Havre and Bob Jones of Kelso, Wash.; sisters, Dorothy Rese of Bemidji, Minn., and Laura Stein

of Pasadena, Calif.; brothers, Eugene (Joyce) Duhamel of Chula Vista, Calif., and Claude (Peggy) Duhamel of Shreveport, La.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
