LEWISTON Lewis-Clark State forced 36 turnovers in defeating 23rd-ranked Montana State University-Northern, 74-59, in a Frontier Conference women's basketball game Thursday night at Warrior Gymnasium.
The Warriors converted those 36 turnovers into 30 points.
Leading Lewis-Clark State (15-8, 5-3 Frontier) was Kyla Harris' season-high 17 points, 13 of which came in the first half. Shanta Coleman recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jessica Foot again came off the bench strong with a solid 13-point effort.
Paula Owens scored a game-high 18 points for MSU-Northern (17-6, 4-4). Tamecia Watkins finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds.
Lewis-Clark State ran out to a quick 18-3 lead, but a 13-2 run by the Skylights cut the lead to four with 10:40 remaining in the first half. The Warriors countered that run with a 14-2 run of their own to lead by 16. The Warriors would lead by as many as 21 in the first half.
LCSC controlled much of the second half, leading by as many as 25 points. The Skylights could only pull to within as few as 10 points in the second half.
