Ermalinda "Erma" M. Donahue, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at a Havre care center of natural causes.
Vigil is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holland and Bonine Chapel. Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial is to
follow at the Calvary Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Erma was born June 30, 1912 to Nickalous and Mary (Thiesen) Gross at St. Cloud, Minn. She graduated from Holy Angel's High School in St. Cloud and attended the Business School in St. Cloud. On April 9, 1931, Erma married Garrett G. Donahue at St. Cloud.
In 1946, the couple was transferred to Havre with Garrett's job, where he became a mechanical officer with the Great Northern Railway. Garrett preceded Erma in death in 1981.
Erma loved flowers, gardening, reading and visits from her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garrett G. Donahue on Aug. 13, 1981; one sister; nine brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia A. Crowe of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; sons, Daniel D. Donahue of Whitefish and Michael M. Donahue of St. Paul, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Erma's honor may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
