Bear Paw Ski Bowl manager Dave Martens said today the downhill ski area will be open and operating this weekend.
The ski hill has a chairlift to the top of Black Mountain and a beginner ski area with a rope tow above the day lodge.
Martens said the ski hill has 8 to 24 inches of snowpack with a trace of new snow. "And we're supposed to get snow tonight," Martens said.
The National Weather Service is predicting up to 2 inches of accumulation in Havre tonight. Martens said he hopes the ski area adjacent to Baldy Mountain will get considerably more.
The ski hill is in operation from about 10:30 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
